The Engine Overhaul business has the capability to service all products in the Trent engine family, this includes Trent 500, Trent 700, Trent 800, Trent 900, Trent 1000 and Trent XWB; SAESL is the only Trent engine MRO that can support all product variants. Job Summary

The Quality Engineer (Supply Chain Operations) is responsible for ensuring compliance, quality assurance, and process control across warehouse, material handling, and kitting operations to support safe, efficient, and defect-free engine maintenance activities. The role drives quality-at-source, strengthens material control and traceability, prevents part mix-up and Foreign Object Damage (FOD) risks, and supports continuous improvement initiatives aligned with Zero Defects and operational excellence.

Job Responsibilities

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure warehouse and kitting activities comply with company procedures, regulatory requirements, customer requirements, and quality standards.
  • Drive compliance in material handling, part identification, traceability, shelf-life management, preservation, and FOD prevention.
  • Conduct Go Look See (GLS), Layered Process Audits (LPA), and process compliance audits to verify operational discipline and adherence to procedures.
  • Lead investigations, containment actions, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for material discrepancies, wrong-part issues, supplier escapes, missing items, tooling accountability concerns, and FOD events.
  • Apply structured problem-solving methodologies such as 5 Why, 5M1E, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to resolve quality issues.
  • Monitor and verify the effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions.

Supplier Quality & Material Control

  • Support investigation and containment activities related to supplier quality issues, certification discrepancies, incorrect part supply, and material escapes.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Supplier Management, and external suppliers to drive timely corrective and preventive actions.
  • Monitor incoming material quality, certification reviews, part marking verification, and independent verification controls.
  • Improve material accountability, kitting accuracy, traceability, and segregation of non-conforming materials.
  • Support supplier audits, quality assessments, risk mitigation, and read-across activities.

Process Improvement & Data Analytics

  • Analyse quality data and KPIs to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and presentations to support operational and management reviews.
  • Drive continuous improvement, automation, and standardisation initiatives to strengthen process robustness and Right-First-Time performance.
  • Identify process gaps and implement sustainable improvement actions.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance compliance, operational efficiency, and quality performance.
  • Promote a Zero Defects and quality-at-source culture.

Quality System Governance

  • Ensure compliance with Operational Process Manuals (OPMs), SOPs, work instructions, and Quality Management System requirements.
  • Support the review, enhancement, and standardisation of operational procedures and quality processes.
  • Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
  • Promote operational discipline and quality awareness throughout supply chain operations.

Qualification / Experience

  • Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Quality Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain Operations, Manufacturing, MRO, or the Aviation industry.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt, or ISO Lead Auditor will be an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, AS9100, AS9110) and quality tools such as FMEA, SPC, 8D, RCA, 5 Why, and CAPA.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP) and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Power BI.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and data interpretation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of aviation/aerospace regulations, material control requirements, warehouse operations, and supplier quality management will be an advantage.
  • Experience in quality auditing, compliance monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives is preferred.
