Company Description
Jal Yoga is a Singapore Yoga and wellness studio brand with locations in Alexandra, Katong, Kovan, Upper Bukit Timah, and Woodlands, offering Yoga, Barre, Mat and Reformer Pilates, and a growing range of wellness programming. We're looking for someone to take full ownership of our Katong/Kovan studio.
Role Description
The Katong/Kovan Studio Manager is responsible for the overall performance of the studio. Sales and lead conversion remain a core, non-negotiable part of the role, and the successful candidate will be expected to consistently meet and exceed targets. Alongside this, the role carries equal responsibility for the member experience, the standard of the studio's environment and upkeep, and its reputation within the community and online. The Studio Manager is the primary point of accountability for the studio's outcomes, both commercial and experiential.
Job Scope
1. Leads Management
- Respond to every new lead promptly — same working day as a general standard, faster during studio operating hours
- Log and track all leads (source, status, follow-up notes) in the studio's system
- Follow up consistently until a lead either books a trial or is marked as unconverted, rather than letting leads go cold
- Book qualified leads into trial classes and confirm attendance ahead of time
2. Sales & Conversion
- Run the trial-to-membership conversion conversation, explaining packages, pricing, and current promotions clearly and accurately
- Achieve or exceed monthly sales targets set by leadership
- Identify and act on cross-sell opportunities (e.g. Reformer top-ups for Yoga members and vice versa)
3. Sales Reporting
- Maintain an up-to-date record of leads generated, trials booked, and conversions closed
- Submit regular sales reports to management (leads, trial-to-conversion rate, performance against target)
- Flag any dip against target early, rather than only at month-end
4. Team Collaboration (with CCE)
- Direct and coordinate the CCE's day-to-day tasks — enrolment support, class prep, walk-in handling, admin
- Brief the CCE on current promotions, priorities, and any member-specific follow-ups needed
- Work as a two-person team to make sure the studio is properly covered and members are attended to throughout operating hours
5. Member Experience
- Build genuine rapport with members and trial-goers, being someone they recognise and are comfortable approaching
- Serve as the primary point of contact for member questions, concerns, and requests
- Personally follow up with members showing signs of disengagement or lapsing, to support retention
6. Studio Environment
- Ensure the studio is clean, tidy, and presentable at all times, including before and after peak hours
- Check equipment condition regularly and flag maintenance needs before they become bigger issues
- Manage day-to-day stock and supplies at the studio level, coordinating with the Ops & Admin lead on bigger maintenance or inventory needs
7. Responsiveness
- Respond promptly to enquiries from leads and members, whether by call, message, or in person
- Monitor studio communication channels (phone, WhatsApp, Vibefam) throughout operating hours so nothing sits unanswered
8. Escalation
- Raise unresolved member complaints, staffing gaps, or facility issues promptly rather than letting them sit
- Escalate through the appropriate channel as soon as something is beyond what can be resolved at studio level
What We're Looking For
- Prior experience in a customer-facing sales role, ideally within fitness, wellness, hospitality, or retail
- Proven ability to consistently meet or exceed sales targets
- Experience in leads management and sales reporting, with the discipline to track and report on performance metrics regularly
- Comfortable directing and coordinating the work of a Customer Care Executive as part of a two-person studio team
- A strong sense of ownership — able to take accountability for the overall running of the studio, not sales performance alone, including the member experience and studio environment
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to build genuine rapport with members
- Sound problem-solving skills and the composure to handle and resolve member complaints or operational issues professionally
- Reliable and hands-on, able to be consistently present on-site daily from 2:00pm to 9:00pm, with one weekday off per week
- Familiarity with the Katong/Kovan area or community is an advantage, though not required
