What You Will Be Doing

We are hiring a hands-on Senior QA Engineer focused on manual testing. You will plan and execute functional, regression, exploratory, and UAT testing across our mobile and web products, own defect quality in Jira, and help the team ship safely in sprint cycles. AI expertise and test automation are not required. Strong manual QA craft, clear communication, and healthcare-data awareness are what matter. Automation or AI/LLM testing exposure is a nice-to-have only.

On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for

  • Plan test coverage for sprint and release work: scope, risks, priorities, and acceptance criteria.
  • Write and maintain clear test cases and checklists for happy paths, edge cases, and failure paths.
  • Execute functional, regression, exploratory, and UAT testing across mobile (iOS/Android patient app) and web surfaces (including doctor portal, CMS, TPA/claims, and related web flows).
  • Perform API checks with Postman (or equivalent) and basic SQL data validation to confirm system behaviour and data integrity.
  • Log, triage, retest, and close defects in Jira (WCS), with reproducible steps, evidence, severity, and impact.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering in sprints: clarify requirements, flag gaps early, and support release readiness and sign-off.
  • Contribute to release confidence: smoke checks, known-issue callouts, and a clear go / no-go recommendation based on evidence.
  • Mentor junior QA colleagues on test design, defect quality, and day-to-day QA practice.
  • Handle patient and member data responsibly, following WhiteCoat privacy and security expectations (PHI/PII awareness).

What we are looking for

Required

  • 4+ years of hands-on manual QA experience across web and/or mobile products.
  • 1+ year in a senior, lead, or mentoring capacity (formal title optional; evidence of guiding others is enough).
  • Strong test design skills: functional, regression, exploratory, and UAT.
  • Comfortable working in Agile/sprint delivery with Product and Engineering.
  • Practical experience with Jira (or similar) for defect lifecycle management.
  • Working knowledge of API testing with Postman (or similar) and basic SQL for data checks.
  • Clear written English for test cases, defect reports, and release notes.
  • Careful handling of sensitive data; willingness to follow healthcare privacy and security practices.
  • Based in / able to work from Kuala Lumpur, with the legal right to work in Malaysia without sponsorship.

Good To Have

  • Basics of test automation (e.g. Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Appium, or API automation) — curiosity is enough; deep expertise not required.
  • Exposure to AI/LLM feature testing or evaluation.
  • Healthcare, insurance, TPA/claims, or fintech domain experience.
  • ISTQB (or equivalent) certification.
  • Experience testing both iOS and Android apps, and cross-browser web flows.

Our Benefits

  • Make a Real Impact: Opportunity to contribute to a leading digital health company's rapid growth.
  • Fast-paced Start-up Environment: Experience an environment where you get to own and make tangible impact without bureaucracy getting in the way of rapid decision-making.
  • Great Team: Collaborate with intelligent, friendly, and supportive professionals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Hands-on Learning & Growth: Gain hands-on experience in strategy, partnerships, operations, and product innovation within a growing industry.
  • Competitive Compensation & Benefits: Competitive compensation and performance-based bonus. Holistic health insurance for your peace of mind for both in-patient and out-patient coverage.
