Responsibilities

About the role

The Home Manager is responsible for the overall management of Silver Jubilee Home, ensuring that residents receive compassionate, dignified and appropriate care within a safe, well-managed and financially responsible environment. The Manager will lead daily operations, staff management, regulatory compliance, financial administration, fundraising and community engagement. The role also supports the Home's vision of creating a vibrant and inclusive community where vulnerable and underserved older adults live actively with dignity and purpose.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure residents receive appropriate and compassionate care in accordance with the Home's policies and regulatory requirements

  • Protect residents' dignity, safety, rights, independence and overall wellbeing

  • Lead and manage the Home's daily operations to ensure safe, efficient and resident-centred service delivery

  • Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations, licensing conditions, health requirements and operating standards

  • Plan staffing requirements and ensure adequate scheduling and duty coverage at all times

  • Lead the recruitment, induction, training, supervision and performance evaluation of staff

  • Prepare annual operating budgets and monitor expenditure against approved allocations

  • Develop and implement fundraising programmes involving corporations, individual donors and in-kind contributors

  • Conduct regular reviews of resident care, staff practices, records and facility standards

  • Promptly report material operational, financial, safeguarding and compliance risks to the General Committee

About you

  • Diploma or degree in healthcare management, nursing, social work, business administration, hospitality management or a related discipline

  • At least ten years of relevant working experience, preferably in aged care, healthcare, residential care, hospitality, or general management

  • At least five years of experience in a supervisory or managerial position

  • Experience in managing staff, budgets, operations and regulatory compliance

  • Proficiency in written and spoken English, including report writing

  • Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia; knowledge of Mandarin dialects would be an advantage

  • Competency in Microsoft Office applications

  • High standards of integrity, accountability and professionalism

  • Compassionate, patient and respectful towards older adults

  • Calm and decisive when handling emergencies or sensitive situations
