This role will be based in Bangsar South.
Responsibilities:
(a) Direct and Indirect Tax Compliance
- Prepare monthly tax provisions, current and deferred tax computations in accordance with applicable accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Prepare and submit indirect tax returns, including WHT, ITS, Sales Tax and GST, ensuring timely statutory compliance.
- Support transfer pricing documentation and tax audits/queries for Malaysia and Singapore entities.
- Liaise with external tax agents and tax authorities, including LHDN, Customs Malaysia and IRAS, on tax-related matters.
(b) Financial Closing
- Prepare monthly and month-end journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and intercompany reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate and complete financial records, including fixed assets and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare audit schedules and support the month-end closing process.
(c) Regional and Statutory Reporting
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports covering statutory, management and group reporting requirements.
- Prepare reconciliation schedules and adjustments between local, management and legal books.
- Prepare quarterly tax reporting packages and support group tax and regional reporting submissions.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly Free Cash Flow (FCF) reporting for Malaysia and Singapore entities.
(d) Audit, Treasury and Compliance
- Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and support audit-related requirements.
- Support treasury activities, including tax payments, intercompany fund transfers and banking transactions.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies and statutory requirements.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to improve reporting efficiency and controls.
(e) Stakeholder Management and Ad-Hoc Support
- Liaise with internal stakeholders across Finance, Commercial, Supply Chain and regional offices.
- Serve as a key contact for auditors, tax agents and regulatory authorities.
- Support finance projects, system implementations and ad-hoc reporting requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, CIMA or equivalent is preferred.
- 5–7 years of relevant experience in accounting, taxation and financial reporting.
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian tax regulations, including SST, withholding tax and deferred taxation.
- Experience working with auditors, tax authorities and external consultants.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS/MFRS and financial reporting requirements.
- Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and reconciliation skills.
