Responsibilities
Job Summary
Responsible for supervising daily housekeeping operations and ensuring all serviced apartment units, guest rooms, common areas and facilities are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate daily work of Housekeeping Attendants, Room Attendants and Cleaners.
Allocate cleaning duties based on arrivals, departures, stayovers and long-stay requirements.
Ensure guest rooms and serviced apartment units are cleaned and prepared according to company standards and within required turnaround time.
Conduct regular inspections of rooms, units and common areas, including cleanliness, linen, amenities and overall presentation.
Report and follow up on maintenance defects with the Maintenance team.
Train and guide housekeeping staff on cleaning procedures, service standards, SOPs, hygiene and safety requirements.
Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, grooming, productivity and work performance.
Monitor and maintain adequate stock of cleaning chemicals, toiletries, linen, towels and housekeeping supplies.
Conduct regular inventory checks and minimise wastage and unnecessary expenses.
Oversee linen collection, distribution, storage and inventory control.
Respond to housekeeping-related guest requests and complaints and coordinate with Front Office for prompt resolution.
Coordinate with Front Office on room status, arrivals, departures, early check-ins and late check-outs.
Ensure proper recording, handling and storage of lost and found items.
Maintain daily housekeeping reports, room status updates, inspection records and maintenance reports.
Ensure staff comply with workplace safety, hygiene, PPE and proper chemical handling requirements.
Assist the Housekeeping Manager/Operations Manager with manpower planning, staff training, audits and other operational duties.
Perform housekeeping duties when required and undertake any other duties assigned by Management.
Requirements
Minimum 2–3 years of housekeeping experience, preferably in hotels, serviced apartments or hospitality establishments.
Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Good knowledge of housekeeping procedures, cleaning standards and hygiene practices.
Good communication, organisational and leadership skills.
Able to work independently and supervise a team.
Willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays when required.
