Role is to carry out routine quality inspections and checks on precast concrete products during the production process to ensure products meet the required quality standards, specifications, dimensions and workmanship requirements before being released to the next process or customer.
The QC Inspector is a hands-on shop-floor role responsible for identifying defects, recording inspection results and immediately reporting quality issues to the QC Supervisor and Production team.
Production Quality Inspection
- Conduct routine inspection of precast concrete products at various stages of production.
- Check products for:
- Dimensions and measurements
- Surface finishing and appearance
- Cracks, honeycombing, chips and other visible defects
- Alignment and shape
- Embedded items, openings and inserts
- Reinforcement placement where applicable
- Product identification and markings
- Carry out inspection according to approved Quality Inspection Plans, SOPs, Work Instructions and product specifications.
- Ensure inspection is carried out before products proceed to the next production stage.
Measurement & Testing
- Use basic measuring tools and inspection equipment such as:
- Measuring tape
- Vernier caliper
- Weighing equipment
- Other QC inspection tools
- Record actual measurements and compare them against specified requirements.
- Assist QC personnel in carrying out basic product testing and sampling where required.
- Ensure inspection equipment is handled properly and kept in good condition.
Defect Identification
- Identify and segregate products that do not meet the required quality standards.
- Clearly identify rejected or defective products to prevent unintended use or delivery.
- Report defects immediately to the QC Supervisor / QC Executive.
- Assist in monitoring corrective actions taken by Production.
- Conduct re-inspection after rectification where required.
Yard Quality Monitoring
- Conduct regular rounds at the production floor and product storage areas.
- Monitor compliance with approved production and quality procedures.
- Highlight any abnormal conditions that may affect product quality.
- Work closely with Production Operators and Supervisors to prevent recurring defects.
- Maintain good housekeeping and ensure the inspection area is safe and organized.
Requirement
- Minimum SPM / equivalent qualification.
- Certificate in technical, manufacturing, construction or quality-related fields will be an advantage but is not mandatory.
- Previous experience in precast concrete, concrete products, construction, manufacturing or QC inspection is an advantage.
- Candidates with hands-on factory experience may be considered even without formal QC experience.
- Basic understanding of measurements and dimensions.
- Able to use basic measuring and inspection tools.
- Able to read simple drawings, dimensions and product specifications.
- Basic understanding of concrete/precast products is an advantage.
- Basic computer or mobile-device skills for recording inspection data.
Pay: RM1,900.00 - RM2,500.00 per month
