JOB SUMMARY
Senior Manager / Manager, Human Resource, will manage, direct, and administer the routine functions of the Human Resource Department including but not limited to recruitment, selection and hiring, onboarding, administering compensation with benefits, payroll and leave management, performance management, training, employee relations and enforcing company policies and practices.
Requirements:
- Master / Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Law or a related field. Master’s degree or professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM, CIPD) is an added advantage.
- Minimum 8–10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3–5 years in a senior HR management role.
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian Labour Law, Employment Act, and HR best practices.
- Experience in managing HR functions in the education or healthcare sector is desirable.
- Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- This role is responsible for ensuring the compliance with the Human Resource policies and practices of Perdana University which include inter alia:–
- Supervise, manage, and be accountable of the Human Resource team and daily or routine HR-related matters at Perdana University and to regularly be in contact with the Group Human Resource Manager.
- Lead in the recruitment process from the beginning till the successful hiring and placement of a candidate.
- Plan and manage the periodic/annual employee appraisal exercises and to evaluate staff performance and to provide regular feedback to the management.
- Provide advice and oversee employee disciplinary matters and to ensure that appropriate disciplinary process is being adhered to for the purpose of avoiding adverse legal impact and in accordance to the Employment Act/Labour Law.
- Responsible to oversee the efficient handling of the following: - Payroll - Employment Pass - Work Permit (New applications + Renewals) - Teaching permit - MOHE approval and Visa applications for Perdana University Staff.
- Review, advise and implement HR policies & procedures, manuals, guidelines, rewards scheme & structure to support effective selection, development, retention and rewarding of employees for Perdana University resources aligned with the Group’s goals and strategies.
- Analyze and propose suitable training program/events for employee benefit and in compliance with requirements such as ISO and etc.
- Responsible to prepare the HR Department budget as required by the Finance Department.
- Responsible to source and review proposals for the renewal of Employee Benefits insurances and the Directors’ and Officers’ Liability Insurance and advice the management.
- Represent Perdana University on Industrial Relation (IR) and Employee Relations (ER) related matters and provide advice on solutions or remedial actions to be taken.
- Responsible to prepare reports or Board papers as and when required or during meetings or briefings.
- You shall carry out any other duties, tasks or assignments which will be directed to you from time to time.
- You will be required to provide services and trainings related to your areas of specialty, as directed by the Head of Department/Registrar and Vice Chancellor.
- Manage the HRDF Training for in-house and external participants.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: RM7,000.00 - RM10,000.00 per month
