About The Company

Our client is a global technology and manufacturing organisation supporting advanced industries worldwide. As part of its continued expansion in Malaysia, the company is establishing a new manufacturing operation in Johor Bahru and is looking for an experienced Operations Program Manager to support its operational ramp-up and growth.

About The Job

  • Lead operational planning and execution for new products, product transfers, volume ramp-ups, and customer orders.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, resources, budgets, deliverables, and milestones.
  • Translate customer requirements into executable production and supply chain plans.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams across manufacturing, engineering, quality, warehouse, procurement, and planning.
  • Monitor production progress, material readiness, capacity, manpower, work-in-progress, and shipment commitments.
  • Identify critical shortages, operational constraints, and project risks, with clear mitigation and recovery plans.
  • Lead operational readiness activities, including validation builds, qualification runs, and manufacturing learning cycles.
  • Support the management of engineering changes and non-conforming materials while minimising cost and production disruption.
  • Work with manufacturing and quality teams to improve first-pass yield and reduce defects, rework, scrap, and delays.
  • Track program costs and operational performance, including material, labour, supplier, freight, and quality-related costs.
  • Maintain structured program dashboards, risk registers, and action trackers.
  • Provide regular progress updates and executive-level reporting on schedules, risks, costs, and recovery actions.
  • Ensure timely customer deliveries, supporting documentation, logistics coordination, and post-delivery issue resolution.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across productivity, cost, quality, and operational efficiency.

about the requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5–7 years of experience in program management, project management, operations, or manufacturing.
  • Experience within semiconductor, industrial automation, capital equipment, electronics, or another high-tech manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of production planning, supply chain readiness, manufacturing processes, quality systems, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience supporting new product introduction, product transfers, factory ramp-ups, or customer delivery programs would be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder-management, and organisational skills.
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage changing priorities.
  • PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or a relevant project-management certification would be an added advantage.
