About the role

Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade IBM z/OS operating systems and related system software. Perform IPL, system customization, and parameter tuning to ensure optimal system performance and stability.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade IBM z/OS operating systems and related system software

• Perform IPL, system customization, and parameter tuning to ensure optimal system performance and stability

• Manage SMP/E for software installation, maintenance, and patching

• Monitor system performance using tools such as RMF, SMF, and OMEGAMON, and implement tuning recommendations

• Manage datasets, catalogs, storage (DASD), and capacity planning

• Handle system-level problem determination, root cause analysis, and resolution of z/OS incidents

• Support disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity (BCP) planning, testing, and execution

• Coordinate mainframe infrastructure changes in accordance with change management processes

• IBM z/OS and z/Architecture platforms

• RACF, MFA, security auditing, and compliance

• JES2/JES3, CICS, DB2, IMS, TCP/IP subsystems

• SMP/E, RMF, SMF, OMEGAMON tools

• JCL, REXX, CLIST scripting

• ITIL, Change Management, DR/BCP processes
