About the role
Senko Advanced Components is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Product Engineer to drive product lifecycle management, design enhancements, and engineering support for our optical interconnect solutions. In this role, you will bridge customer requirements with engineering execution by optimizing existing product lines, leading product release activities, managing engineering documentation, and supporting cross-functional teams including QA, Sales, and Manufacturing.
Key responsibilities
Product Design & Engineering Support

Design and implement value-added features for existing optical product lines to enhance product performance, usability, and functionality.

Lead end-to-end product design modifications based on customer requests, working closely with Sales to deliver tailored solutions and perform re-qualification testing where necessary.

Continuously drive design-for-cost (DFC) and value engineering initiatives to optimize manufacturing costs and feature sets on released products.
Product Lifecycle & ECN/PCN Management

Own the product release process for the Product Development Division, ensuring complete engineering documentation and accurate customer drawings.

Author, review, and issue Engineering Change Notices (ECN) and Process Change Notifications (PCN) for both internal teams and external customers.

Maintain, audit, and improve the central engineering drawing storage system to ensure version control and accurate data management.
Quality Assurance & Testing Coordination

Partner with QA to investigate and resolve design- and structure-related quality issues, implementing corrective actions as needed.

Coordinate with the Testing Department to execute design validation testing, evaluate test results, and confirm functional performance following product modifications.

Review, revise, and sign off on technical drawings for customers, vendors, and contract manufacturers.
Requirements & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Design Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in Product Engineering, including proven hands-on Product Design experience.

Proficiency in CAD / SolidWorks is required for 3D modeling, assembly design, and technical drafting.

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Solid understanding of engineering change processes (ECN/PCN), design validation, and mechanical testing methodologies.

Strong communication skills—ability to articulate technical details clearly across cross-functional internal teams, customers, and manufacturers.

Fluent spoken and written communication skills in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.

Exceptional organizational skills with strong logical reasoning and structured problem-solving abilities.
