Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Accounts Executive is responsible for managing the full spectrum of accounting and finance activities for assigned entities, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, compliance, and timeliness of financial records, reporting, and statutory obligations.

The role oversees full set accounts, General Ledger management, month-end and year-end closing, cashflow monitoring, budgeting support, audit coordination, taxation matters, e-Invoicing, SST compliance, and financial reporting while providing guidance and support to junior finance team members.

The Senior Accounts Executive plays a critical role in supporting financial governance, operational effectiveness, and management decision-making by ensuring reliable financial information, strong internal controls, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Accounting & Reporting

· Manage full set accounts independently for assigned entities.

· Maintain the integrity and accuracy of General Ledger accounts and financial records.

· Prepare journal entries, accruals, prepayments, depreciation schedules, provisions, and month-end adjustments.

· Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities.

· Prepare management accounts, financial reports, and supporting schedules.

· Review balance sheet schedules and ensure timely reconciliations.

· Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations.

· Analyse financial performance, trends, and variances and highlight significant matters to Management.

Finance Operations & Controls

· Review Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, bank reconciliations, journals, and finance schedules prepared by team members.

· Ensure finance transactions are processed accurately and within agreed timelines.

· Monitor compliance with finance procedures, internal controls, and company policies.

· Identify operational, financial, and compliance risks and recommend corrective actions.

· Maintain proper supporting documentation and audit-ready records.

· Ensure adherence to finance governance and risk management standards.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Cashflow Management

· Support annual budgeting and periodic forecasting exercises.

· Prepare weekly and monthly cashflow forecasts.

· Monitor budget utilisation and highlight significant variances.

· Monitor collection ageing, payment obligations, and cashflow positions.

· Escalate overdue balances, liquidity concerns, and financial risks appropriately.

· Support working capital management initiatives and financial planning activities.

Audit, Taxation & Regulatory Compliance

· Coordinate annual audit activities and statutory reporting requirements.

· Liaise with auditors, tax agents, company secretaries, banks, and regulatory authorities.

· Prepare audit schedules, tax schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.

· Support tax computations, tax estimates, and tax-related submissions.

· Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, statutory requirements, and company policies.

· Maintain finance records and documentation in an audit-ready condition.

E-Invoicing & SST Compliance

· Prepare, review, and submit e-Invoices in compliance with LHDN requirements.

· Monitor e-Invoice validation status and resolve submission issues promptly.

· Ensure proper maintenance of e-Invoicing records and supporting documentation.

· Prepare, review, and coordinate SST submissions and reconciliations for SST-registered entities.

· Ensure timely submission of SST returns and payment obligations.

· Monitor developments relating to taxation, SST, and e-Invoicing regulations.

Fixed Asset Management

· Maintain and review the Fixed Asset Register.

· Ensure proper recording of asset acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation.

· Support periodic asset verification exercises.

· Ensure accurate accounting treatment and supporting documentation for fixed assets.

Team Leadership & Capability Development

· Supervise and support Accounts Executives and Accounts Clerks where applicable.

· Allocate work, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of finance activities.

· Provide technical guidance, coaching, and support to junior finance team members.

· Review work quality and ensure compliance with finance standards and procedures.

· Support onboarding, training, and development of finance staff.

Process Improvement & Finance Excellence

· Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, controls, and reporting efficiency.

· Support system enhancements, automation initiatives, and finance transformation projects.

· Utilise finance systems, automation tools, and digital solutions to improve efficiency and reporting accuracy.

· Recommend improvements that strengthen financial governance and operational effectiveness.

· Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that support organisational growth and scalability.

Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM7,000.00 per month
