About the role

We are seeking a talented and passionate Barista to join our team at Wangsa Holdings Sdn Bhd. This is a full-time position based in Kuala Lumpur City Centre. As a Barista, you will be at the heart of our hospitality operation, crafting exceptional coffee beverages and creating memorable experiences for our valued customers. This role is crucial to delivering the high-quality service and premium product standards that define our brand. You will work in a fast-paced environment where your expertise in coffee preparation, customer service excellence, and attention to detail directly contribute to our reputation and customer satisfaction.

What you'll be doing

• Prepare and serve a variety of espresso-based drinks, specialty coffees, and other beverages to the highest standard

• Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee equipment with precision and care

• Execute consistent latte art and presentation techniques to ensure visually appealing beverages

• Take customer orders accurately and provide knowledgeable recommendations based on customer preferences

• Maintain a clean and organised work station, adhering to strict hygiene and food safety standards

• Stock and manage inventory of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other beverage components

• Engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere

• Work collaboratively with team members during peak service periods

• Follow recipes and standard operating procedures consistently across all beverages

• Handle cash and card transactions accurately and securely

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Barista or in a similar café/coffee service role

• Strong knowledge of coffee varieties, brewing methods, and espresso techniques

• Proficiency in operating espresso machines and grinder equipment

• Ability to maintain consistent quality whilst working under pressure during busy periods

• Excellent customer service skills with a genuine passion for hospitality

• Attention to detail and commitment to hygiene and food safety standards

• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team

• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift items regularly

• Flexibility to work shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as required

• Relevant barista certification or training is preferred but not essential for experienced candidates

• Positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop your skills
