Job Description

Responsibilities

We are looking for Senior Technical Manager (Gas plant/ renewable energy) who can lead and support the development of gas fired / renewable projects including strategy and planning for expansion, and support projects in terms of technical due diligence, technical proposal, market info/update where necessary.


Roles and Responsibilities:

Market Analysis & Opportunity Identification

  1. Assist Project Manager in identify and evaluate greenfield and brownfield gas fired/ renewable energy project opportunities.
  2. Analyze regulatory frameworks, energy demand forecasts, and competitive landscapes.


Project Development

  1. Conducts or leads technical advisor(s) for preliminary and detail technical due diligence and/or technical feasibility study of renewable energy project opportunities.
  2. Identify and mitigate technical risks associated with project development and execution.
  3. Prepare and review technical documentation, reports, and presentations from/for internal and external stakeholders.
  4. Initiates and supports procurement process of technical advisor(s), including preparation of technical requirements, clarification and evaluation. Initiate and follow up internal technical advisor claim process.
  5. Assist in the preparation of project budgets (technical portion of financial model inputs) and schedules.
  6. Anticipate, understand and resolve technical issues to ensure assigned projects are developed in timely manner.


Stakeholder Engagement

  1. Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, utilities, EPC contractors, technology providers, and investors.


Project Implementation

  1. Carry out specific functions and implementation including conducting necessary technical due diligence, techno-economic studies, contract review/development (technical chapters of PPA, EPC, LTSA, O&M, etc.), analysis of technical input for financial modelling, bid preparation etc.
  2. Support financial modelling and risk analysis for project investment decisions.
  3. Negotiate commercial terms including PPAs, fuel supply agreements, EPC, LTSA, etc.
  4. Assist and update for the technical documentation for handing over to Project Team

Minimum Requirements

  1. Degree in Science or Technology (in power generation, renewable energy) or Engineering in Mechanical, Electrical or Instrumentation, or relevant professional qualifications.
  2. 5 years’ power industry, preferably in project engineering or project development experience.
  3. Experience in using one production tool, such as PVSyst, WaSP, PlantPredict, GT Pro, etc.
  4. Strong background in energy infrastructure, project development, and stakeholder engagement, with a proven ability to identify opportunities, structure deals, and drive projects.
  5. Additional experience in construction, project commissioning and/or operations and maintenance of energy projects including transmission projects will be an added advantage.
  6. Ability of using multiple production tools will be added advantage.
  7. Recognized competency such as PE, chargeman, wireman, Steam Engineer, TE, PMP, etc. has additional advantages.
