Position: Fire Protection System Design Engineer
Location: Singapore
We are looking for an experienced Fire Protection System Design Engineer to support the design, coordination, installation, and delivery of fire protection and life safety systems for a major high-tech/industrial project in Singapore.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and review fire protection and life safety system designs for industrial and high-tech facilities.
- Support fire protection systems including automatic sprinklers, fire alarm systems, smoke control/exhaust systems, and fire suppression systems.
- Assess fire safety risks and ensure proposed systems comply with relevant fire codes, regulations, project specifications, and industry standards.
- Support fire and smoke analysis and contribute to the development of appropriate fire safety strategies.
- Coordinate closely with architectural, mechanical, electrical, MEP, construction, contractor, and vendor teams throughout project execution.
- Review technical drawings, specifications, and installation works to ensure they meet design and project requirements.
- Provide on-site supervision for fire protection system installation activities.
- Participate in design coordination, site inspections, system testing, commissioning, and project handover activities.
Requirements
- 3–5+ years of relevant site experience involving fire protection systems within semiconductor fabs, high-tech facilities, industrial plants, or large-scale construction projects.
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or another relevant engineering discipline.
- Strong practical experience supervising fire protection system installation works on site.
- Familiarity with Singapore fire safety codes, regulatory requirements, and SCDF requirements/processes.
- Knowledge of fire protection system testing, commissioning, inspections, and approval processes will be an advantage.
- Comfortable working in a site-based environment, including shift work when required by the project.
