Role Description

With a minimum of 10 years of Human Resources experience in the manufacturing industry, the candidate must be capable of leading a team in managing Industrial Relations, Employee Engagement, and Training & Development activities. The role is responsible for providing guidance to the team, maintaining good employee relations, ensuring compliance with employment requirements, and supporting the organisation’s people development and business objectives.


Key Responsibilities

Industrial Relations & Employee Relations

  • Provide guidance to the team in handling employee disciplinary matters, misconduct cases, and workplace disputes in accordance with company policies and applicable employment laws.
  • Ensure employee investigations are conducted fairly, objectively and transparently, with proper documentation maintained.
  • Represent the Company in employee-related cases with JTK, JPP/IR Department, Industrial Court and other relevant authorities, where required.
  • Advise and support management on employee relations and disciplinary matters.

Employee Engagement

  • Provide guidance to the team in developing and implementing employee engagement activities, including surveys, feedback sessions and engagement programmes.
  • Identify employee concerns and recommend actions to improve employee satisfaction, morale and workplace culture.

Training & Development

  • Lead the planning and development of the annual training plan in consultation with departments and managers.
  • Provide guidance to the team and monitor the implementation and effectiveness of training programmes.
  • Recommend and support training development initiatives such as E-Learning Portal and In-House Trainer Programme.
  • Oversee the utilization of HRD Corp (HRDF) levy, including training claims and related compliance requirements.


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent, with a minimum of 10 years of relevant HR experience, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to guide and motivate the team, work effectively with all departments and stakeholders, and communicate well with employees at different levels and of different nationalities.
  • Hands-on experience in handling employee misconduct, disciplinary and dispute cases, including conducting Domestic Inquiry and preparing investigation reports.
  • Good knowledge of Malaysian employment laws, including the Employment Act 1955 and its amendments, HRD-related legislation and current labour practices.
  • Good communication, counselling and conflict resolution skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and documentation skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good understanding of social compliance requirements, preferably with knowledge of RBA-based standards.
