JOB DESCRIPTION: BAKER / CASHIER

Position: Baker / Cashier
Department: F&B / Retail
Reports To: Outlet Supervisor / Manager

Job Summary

The Baker / Cashier is responsible for assisting in the daily bakery operations, including the preparation and baking of bakery products, maintaining product quality and cleanliness, as well as handling cashiering and customer service duties. The successful candidate must be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and provide friendly service to customers.

Key Responsibilities
1. Baking & Kitchen Operations

• Prepare and bake bakery products according to the approved recipes, procedures and quality standards.
• Ensure all products are prepared, baked and displayed properly.
• Assist in preparing ingredients and ensuring sufficient stock for daily operations.
• Monitor the freshness and quality of all bakery products.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards at all times.
• Ensure proper handling, storage and labelling of ingredients and food products.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the baking and preparation area.
• Assist with daily stock checking and report any shortages or damaged items to the Supervisor / Manager.
• Minimize product wastage and follow the outlet’s standard operating procedures.

2. Cashiering & Customer Service

• Greet and serve customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Handle customer orders and process payments accurately.
• Operate the POS system and ensure all transactions are recorded correctly.
• Handle cash, card and e-wallet payments responsibly.
• Ensure the cashier counter and customer service area are clean and organized.
• Assist customers with enquiries regarding products, prices and promotions.
• Address customer complaints professionally and escalate any serious issues to the Supervisor / Manager.
• Perform daily cash reconciliation and ensure cash collection is handed over according to company procedures.

3. General Duties

• Assist with the opening and closing of the outlet.
• Replenish product displays and ensure products are presented attractively.
• Follow the assigned work schedule and support colleagues during peak operating hours.
• Comply with all company policies, procedures, food safety requirements and outlet SOPs.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Management from time to time.

Job Requirements

• Minimum SPM or equivalent.
• Previous experience in baking, bakery, F&B, retail or cashiering is an added advantage.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation and baking is preferred.
• Able to operate a POS system or willing to learn.
• Friendly, responsible and customer-service oriented.
• Able to handle cash and payment transactions accurately.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Willing to work on weekends and public holidays, based on the outlet's operating requirements.
• Able to maintain good personal hygiene and comply with food safety standards.

Working Location: Mamabunz, Bangi Gateway Shopping Complex
Employment Type: Full-Time

Pay: RM1,700.00 - RM2,000.00 per month
