About the role
We are seeking an Account Assistant to join the accounting team at Entertainment City SDN. BHD. in Kuala Lumpur. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of our organisation. As an Account Assistant, you will provide essential support to our accounting department, contributing to the accurate recording and processing of financial transactions. This role is fundamental to ensuring our financial records are maintained to the highest standards and that our accounting functions operate smoothly and efficiently.
Key responsibilities
Recording and entering financial transactions into accounting systems with accuracy and attention to detail
Processing invoices, receipts and expense claims in accordance with company procedures
Assisting with the preparation and reconciliation of bank statements and ledger accounts
Supporting the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including chasing outstanding payments
Maintaining accurate and organised financial records and documentation
Assisting with the preparation of financial reports and statements under supervision
Performing administrative tasks such as filing, data entry and scheduling to support the accounting team
Supporting month-end and year-end closing processes as required
Liaising with internal departments and external parties regarding accounting matters
Ensuring compliance with company accounting policies and relevant regulations
What we're looking for
A qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
Strong numerical and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
Excellent organisational abilities and the capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively
Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
A methodical approach to work with a commitment to accuracy and compliance
Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
Familiarity with Malaysian tax and financial regulations is advantageous
A professional attitude with strong ethical standards
