Settlement Operations Management

• Oversee daily settlement activities for all financial transactions, including equities, fixed income, funds, and other investment products as applicable.

• Ensure transactions are settled accurately and within market deadlines.

• Monitor settlement cycles and proactively manage settlement risks and exceptions.

• Review and authorize settlement instructions, cash movements, and reconciliation activities.

Risk Management

• Investigate and resolve settlement breaks, failed trades, unmatched transactions, and reconciliation discrepancies.

• Identify operational risks and establish controls to mitigate financial and reputational exposure.

• Escalate significant issues and incidents to senior management in a timely manner.

Team Leadership

• Lead, coach, and develop the settlement operations team.

• Conduct performance reviews and support staff development and succession planning.

• Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

Stakeholder Management

• Liaise with brokers, custodians, counterparties, clearing houses, banks, and internal business units regarding settlement matters.

• Support client onboarding activities related to settlement operations.

• Act as the primary escalation point for settlement-related issues.

• Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Process Improvement & Projects

• Review and enhance settlement workflows to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.

• Drive automation initiatives and system enhancements.

• Participate in operational change projects, regulatory initiatives, and new product launches.

• Develop and maintain procedures, controls, and operational documentation.

Compliance & Regulatory Responsibilities

• Ensure all settlement activities comply with applicable regulatory requirements and company policies.

• Support internal and external audits.

• Maintain accurate records and reporting for management and regulatory purposes.

• Ensure adherence to AML, compliance, and risk management frameworks where applicable.

1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline.

2. Minimum 8–10 years of relevant operations or settlement experience within banking, securities, asset management, brokerage, or financial services.

3. At least 3–5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.

4. Strong knowledge of securities, cash & OTC settlement processes across multiple markets.

5. Familiarity with SWIFT messaging, CCASS, CMU, Euroclear, Clearstream, and other market infrastructure platforms, where applicable.

6. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and market practices in relevant jurisdictions.

7. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and settlement/operations systems.
