As a Commis Chef / Demi Chef, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality food while supporting daily kitchen operations and large-scale catering production. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about cooking, works well in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to delivering consistent food quality for every customer and event.Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook food items according to the Company's standard recipes, portion control, presentation, and quality standards.
- Assist in daily food preparation, including cutting, marinating, portioning, assembling ingredients, and other mise en place activities.
- Take responsibility for assigned kitchen sections (e.g. meat, vegetables, frying, packing, or other stations) and ensure smooth daily operations.
- Support large-scale food production for catering events while maintaining consistency, quality, and timely preparation.
- Ensure all food is prepared, packed, labelled (where applicable), and dispatched according to event requirements and delivery schedules.
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and organization of the kitchen, workstations, equipment, and food storage areas at all times.
- Comply with all food safety regulations, hygiene standards, and the Company's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Work closely with kitchen team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
- Assist in stock monitoring, inventory checks, and report low stock levels or quality issues to the supervisor.
- Support kitchen operations during peak hours, high-volume production periods, and special events.
- Assist in receiving, checking, and storing food supplies and ingredients according to proper storage procedures.
- Perform any other duties or responsibilities assigned by the Head Chef or management to support kitchen and operational requirements.
What We're Looking For:
- Candidates with experience as a Commis Chef, Demi Chef, Cook, Kitchen Crew, or in a similar kitchen role are encouraged to apply.
- Fresh graduates from Culinary Arts or related fields are welcome to apply.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, food safety, and kitchen operations.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and high-volume kitchen environment.
- Good teamwork, communication, and time management skills.
- Responsible, disciplined, and committed to maintaining high food quality and hygiene standards.
- Able to work on weekends, public holidays, and flexible hours based on operational requirements.
Pay: RM2,300.00 - RM3,300.00 per month
