Python Trading Developer

The Python Trading Developer role involves supporting front-office trading desks by developing automation tools and scalable solutions to enhance operational efficiency. This position plays a key part in automating booking flows, improving controls, and streamlining processes within a collaborative, fast-paced trading environment.

Role Overview
The Python Trading Developer joins the APAC Delta One Trading team to work closely with traders, technology, operations, and quantitative teams. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining applications and automation workflows that support trade bookings, reconciliation, exception management, and real-time desk monitoring. Success is measured by improvements in process efficiency, risk reduction, and system scalability, ensuring the trading desk operates smoothly and adaptively.

Key Skills & Experience

• Lead and develop automation workflows using Python and SQL.
• Build and maintain scalable applications supporting trading activities.
• Integrate structured and unstructured data sources to support the trading desk.
• Collaborate with technology teams to deploy robust solutions following best practices.
• Understand market data and trade lifecycle management, including middle-office workflows.
• Support automation initiatives in a trading environment with a focus on efficiency and controls.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Power BI, Git, Linux, and REST APIs.
• Knowledge of cloud technologies and workflow automation tools.
• Support experience in Equities, Delta One, ETFs, Futures, Swaps, or Electronic Trading.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy automation scripts to streamline manual booking and operational workflows.
• Build tools for trade capture, reconciliation, exception handling, reporting, and monitoring.
• Implement end-to-end workflow controls and reduce manual touchpoints.
• Create dashboards and alerts to provide real-time visibility of desk activities.
• Develop and maintain applications and scripts supporting front-office trading processes.
• Collaborate with traders and stakeholders to identify operational pain points and craft practical solutions.

Requirements

• Right to work in Asia.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Finance, or related discipline.
• 0-5 years of experience supporting front-office trading, automation, or quantitative roles.
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Experience with SQL and database technologies.
• Good understanding of software engineering principles including testing, version control, and deployment.
• On-site work in Hong Kong.
• Availability to start on 09/09/2026 for a duration of 2 weeks.
