JOB SUMMARY
The HSE Technician supports the implementation and maintenance of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs to ensure compliance with local regulations, Jabil standards, and international best practices. This role plays a key part in promoting a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Health & Safety Operations
- Conduct regular workplace safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Support implementation and monitoring of HSE policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
- Assist in incident, accident, and near-miss investigations, including root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive actions.
- Monitor contractor and vendor compliance with site safety requirements.
- Support emergency preparedness activities such as fire drills, evacuation exercises, and emergency response planning.
Environmental Management
- Assist in monitoring environmental compliance related to waste management, chemical handling, wastewater, air emissions, and spill control.
- Maintain records for scheduled waste, chemical inventories, and environmental reporting.
- Support environmental audits and inspections by internal teams and regulatory authorities.
Training & Awareness
- Assist in organizing and delivering HSE-related training and toolbox talks for employees and contractors.
- Promote safety awareness programs and campaigns across the site.
- Support onboarding HSE orientation for new hires.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with Malaysian DOSH, DOE, OSHA, and relevant legal requirements.
- Maintain accurate HSE documentation, permits, inspection records, incident reports, and audit findings.
- Support ISO-related systems such as ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
Continuous Improvement
- Participate in HSE initiatives, improvement projects, and safety committees.
- Support data collection, KPI tracking, and reporting for HSE performance metrics.
REQUIREMENTS
Education & Certification
- Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Health, Engineering, or related field.
- SHO (Safety & Health Officer), OSH-C, or HSE-related certification is an added advantage.
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in HSE, safety, or EHS roles, preferably in manufacturing or electronics industry.
- Fresh graduates with relevant internships or certifications are encouraged to apply.
Skills & Competencies
- Good knowledge of HSE regulations, risk assessment, and incident investigation.
- Familiar with chemical safety, PPE requirements, and emergency response procedures.
- Strong documentation, reporting, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Good communication skills in English (spoken & written).
