We are looking for a friendly, energetic and customer-focused Barista to join our café team. The Barista will be responsible for preparing quality beverages, providing excellent customer service, maintaining café cleanliness and actively supporting sales through product recommendations and upselling.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee, chocolate and other hot and cold beverages according to established recipes and standards
• Operate coffee machines, grinders, blenders and other café equipment safely and correctly
• Ensure beverages are prepared with consistent taste, quality, presentation and portion size
• Welcome and engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner
• Take customer orders accurately and assist with cashier/POS duties when required
• Explain menu items and recommend suitable beverages, food and chocolate products
• Actively promote and upsell drinks, add-ons, food items, chocolate products and current promotions
• Assist customers with enquiries and provide a positive overall café experience
• Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the bar counter, coffee machines, equipment, utensils, tables and surrounding café area
• Perform routine cleaning of coffee machines and equipment according to the required schedule
• Wash and properly store cups, glasses, utensils and barista equipment
• Replenish ingredients, cups, packaging and other café supplies throughout the day
• Monitor stock levels and assist with stock counting and inventory control
• Check ingredients for freshness, quality and expiry dates
• Follow proper food safety, hygiene and sanitation procedures
• Assist with opening and closing duties
• Work closely with other café and retail crew members to ensure smooth daily operations

Requirements

• Must have or be willing to obtain a valid Typhoid Vaccination
• Basic barista experience is preferred, but training can be provided
• Able to communicate effectively in Bahasa Malaysia and English
• Friendly, confident and comfortable engaging with customers
• Willing to actively recommend and upsell products
• Quick learner with a willingness to learn beverage preparation and café operations
• Good attitude, teamwork and communication skills
• Responsible, punctual and disciplined
• Able to maintain cleanliness and work efficiently during busy periods
• Willing to work on weekends and public holidays when required
