About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Kitchen Crew member to join our dynamic culinary team at LAOXIANGJI DINING (MSIA) SDN. BHD. in Kuala Lumpur. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests. As part of our kitchen brigade, you will be instrumental in maintaining the highest standards of food preparation, presentation, and safety whilst contributing to the seamless operation of our bustling kitchen environment.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing and cooking dishes in accordance with established recipes, portion sizes and presentation standards
• Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of your assigned station and kitchen areas, adhering to strict hygiene protocols
• Assisting senior chefs and cooks with food preparation, including chopping, marinating, and cooking ingredients
• Monitoring cooking times and temperatures to ensure food is cooked to the required standard
• Plating and presenting dishes with attention to detail and aesthetic appeal
• Receiving, storing and rotating food inventory appropriately
• Operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, maintaining equipment in good working order
• Supporting the team during service, responding promptly to orders and working under pressure
• Following all food safety and sanitation regulations to prevent cross-contamination
• Communicating effectively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow and coordination

What we're looking for

• Previous experience working in a professional kitchen environment or hospitality setting is advantageous
• Foundational knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods
• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
• Physical stamina and ability to work on your feet for extended periods
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Good communication skills and willingness to take direction
• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required
• Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are preferred but not essential for candidates with strong practical experience
• A passion for food and genuine enthusiasm for the hospitality industry
