Responsibilities
The Assistant Manager / Manager, Internal Communications plays a key role in driving
employee engagement, reinforcing brand pride among employees and fostering a connected,
informed, and engaged employee base.
Reporting to the Internal Communications Lead, you will conceptualise, design and execute
strategic Internal Communications initiatives. You will be responsible for developing and
executing communication plans, creating engaging content and ensuring messaging
consistency and alignment with the organisation’s corporate narratives. You will also work
closely with other internal stakeholders to support change and crisis communications and
building the intranet as an active internal community platform.
Key Responsibilities:
The scope of responsibilities includes but not limited to these outlined:
Strategic Internal Communications: Develop and implement internal communication
strategies that support organisational objectives, key announcements and corporate
initiatives. Provide counsel to internal stakeholders to ensure effective employee
engagement and use of Internal Communication channels.
Event Management: Plan and organise key internal corporate events such as the quarterly
townhalls and annual leadership offsite, including post event surveys.
Content Creation: Create and distribute compelling internal content in various formats that connect employees to SPH Media’s mission and strategic priorities, including
partnering other divisions to create such content. Manage content calendars and ensure
timely delivery of communication materials.
Crisis and Change Management: Support change and issues management by crafting
internal key messages, announcements and FAQs.
Channel Management: Manage and build the SPH Media intranet into an effective internal
communications channel.
Measurement & Continuous Improvement: Track, analyse, and report analytics on
internal communications’ initiatives and channels e.g., intranet usage, email open rates,
employee feedback, etc. Utilise data-driven insights and sentiment feedback to
continuously refine strategies and increase overall engagement.
Job Profile:
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with preferably at least five years’ working experience in
communications and/or marketing role, ideally in the media corporate industries, or public
sector
Experience in Internal Communications will be an advantage
Required Competencies
Excellent command of spoken and written English and communications skills
(verbal/written), with the ability to tailor communication based on target audiences
Strong project management skill, and a proven ability to multi-task, prioritise and meet
deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Results-oriented with data-driven thinking and able to engage internal stakeholders at all
levels to deliver results
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Self-motivated, work well independently and in a team
Proficiency in Canva and video creation software will be an advantage
