IPK COLLEGE is seeking an experienced Account Executive to join our dynamic finance team in a full-time position based in Bukit Mertajam, Penang. As an Account Executive, you will play a crucial role in managing financial records, supporting accounting operations and delivering exceptional financial management services. This position is essential to ensuring the smooth functioning of our accounting department and maintaining high standards of financial accuracy and compliance.

What you'll be doing

1. Assist in the daily operations of the accounting department including month and year-end process, account payable/receivable, cash receipt, general ledger, payroll/ utilities, budgeting, cash forecasting, debts activities and etc.

2. Process invoices, expense claims, payment requests, and other accounts payable transactions accurately and in a timely manner.

3. Handle and monitor e-Invoicing processes, including the preparation, submission, validation, and maintenance of e-Invoice records in accordance with applicable requirements.

4. Ensure sales and collection transactions are captured in accounts accurately and timely

5. To monitor and follow up on collection with customers on outstanding debts.

6. Process and review all vendor invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment and managing supplier aging.

7. Responsible for preparation of full sets of accounts including trial balance, bank reconciliation, balance sheet, Statement of Profit & Loss, and Financial Statement.

8. Ensure all accounting documents and records are properly filed up and well-maintained.

9. Liaise with internal and external auditors, tax agents, company secretary, legal advisors, bankers, vendors, customers, and other relevant parties on accounting and financial matters.

10. Prepare financial reports/statements required by Management from time to time

11. Perform cost center accounting for the company

12. To perform other duties as assigned by the superiors and management from time to time.

What we're looking for

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field

• Proven experience in bookkeeping and small practice accounting, ideally 2-3 years or more

• Good knowledge of full-set accounting, AP/AR, reconciliation, and financial reporting.

• Familiarity with e-Invoicing and accounting software will be an advantage.

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy with numerical data

• Solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles and practices

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Clear communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a team

• Reliability, integrity and professional conduct in handling sensitive financial information

• Knowledge of Malaysian tax regulations and accounting standards is advantageous
