Job Description

Responsibilities

We are currently working with a renowned hyperscale digital infrastructure operator and is seeking a highly skilled Data Centre Design Manager (Mechanical) to join our team. As a key member of our data centre design team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing highly efficient, scalable, and reliable data centre infrastructure. Key Responsibilities:

- Design and develop data centre infrastructure, including electrical, mechanical, and cooling systems

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data centre designs meet business requirements and industry standards

- Conduct site surveys, site selection, and feasibility studies for new data centre builds or retrofits

- Develop and maintain data centre design standards, guidelines, and best practices

- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, such as TIA-942, BICSI, and ASHRAE

- Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications

- Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets

- Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior team members


Key Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science

- Minimum 5 years of experience in data centre design, with a focus on electrical, mechanical, and cooling systems

- Proven track record of delivering high-quality data centre projects

- Strong knowledge of data centre design principles, industry standards, and best practices

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills

- Experience with data centre design software, such as Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and simulation tools

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

- Experience with data centre certifications, such as Uptime Institute Tier

- Certification or LEED

- Knowledge of cloud computing, hyperscale data centres, and edge computing

- Experience with data centre management software, such as DCIM or DCOM

- Certification in data centre design or a related field
