About the role

St. Giles Southkey Johor Bahru is seeking an experienced and dynamic Food & Beverage Manager / Director to oversee all aspects of our food and beverage operations. This is a full-time position based in Johor Bahru, Johor, where you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional dining experiences and driving revenue growth across our establishments. As a key member of our senior management team, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of service, quality and profitability whilst creating a positive workplace culture for your team.

Key responsibilities

1. Oversee daily operations of all food and beverage outlets, including restaurants, bars and banquet facilities

2. Develop and implement food and beverage strategies to maximise revenue and profitability

3. Manage budgets, pricing, cost control and inventory to achieve financial targets

4. Ensure compliance with health, safety and food hygiene standards across all outlets

5. Recruit, train, supervise and motivate food and beverage staff to deliver exceptional customer service

6. Oversee menu development, food preparation standards and culinary consistency

7. Maintain and enhance relationships with suppliers and negotiate contracts to secure best value

8. Monitor customer satisfaction through feedback mechanisms and implement improvements accordingly

9. Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless guest experiences during events and conferences

10. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide professional development opportunities for staff

11. Manage quality assurance, maintaining service standards and brand reputation

What we're looking for

1. Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience in food and beverage management within a hospitality setting

2. Proven track record in managing multiple food and beverage outlets or a large-scale operation

3. Strong knowledge of food safety, health codes and hospitality regulations

4. Excellent financial acumen with demonstrated ability to manage budgets and drive profitability

5. Outstanding leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members

6. Strong understanding of menu planning, food costs and beverage management

7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English and ideally Mandarin or other regional languages. We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.

8. Proficiency in hospitality management software and point-of-sale systems

9. Customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional service experiences

10. Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, public holidays and special events

11. Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management or related field is advantageous
