Responsibilities
Electrical Operations & Maintenance
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Low Voltage (LV), Medium Voltage (MV 11kV), electrical systems in accordance with Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) regulations.
- Ensure compliance with OEM standards, local codes, and statutory requirements for electrical systems.
- Perform switching, isolation, and energization works safely, adhering to Permit-to-Work (PTW) and Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
Regulatory & Compliance
- Serve as the licensed Chargeman for the facility in compliance with Electricity Supply Act 1990 and Electricity Regulations 1994.
- Ensure site meets requirements set by Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Energy Commission of Malaysia).
- Maintain proper records of inspections, logbooks, testing, and calibration.
- Support audits and inspections from authorities and clients.
Project & Commissioning Support
- Provide electrical technical support during project execution, equipment installation, and commissioning.
- Review contractor method statements, risk assessments, and ensure compliance during energization.
- Assist in integrated testing and commissioning (T&C) of electrical systems for data centres.
Emergency Response & Safety
- Respond to electrical faults, outages, and incidents in a timely manner.
- Support root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action plans after breakdowns.
- Implement electrical safety measures, including arc flash protection, earth testing, and grounding checks.
- Train and guide technicians on safe electrical practices.
Operational Support
- Monitor power usage and ensure optimal efficiency of electrical distribution.
- Liaise with utility provider TNB (Tenaga Nasional Berhad) for outages, maintenance coordination, and grid-related issues.
- Support critical environment readiness for client audits and certifications (e.g., TIA, Uptime Tier, ISO, etc.).
Requirements
- Possess valid Chargeman Certificate of Competency A4 issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST).
- Minimum 3 years of working experience in operation & maintenance of electrical systems, preferably in data centres, industrial plants, or mission-critical facilities.
- Strong technical knowledge in MV/LV switchgear, transformers, UPS, generators, and power distribution systems.
- Familiar with Permit-to-Work (PTW), Lockout-Tagout (LOTO), and Electrical Safety Management systems.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and authorities.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Able to work in shifts and respond to emergencies outside normal working hours.
Pay: RM6,000.00 - RM7,500.00 per month
