On a project/ tactical level, the successful candidate provides interior design management and manages A to Z aspects of our projects for new constructions, conversion, or adaptive re-use – across our Ormond Group Hotel Brands, Food and Beverage and Education portfolios.
You must have passion for hospitality design and is able to inspire internal and external participants to create design solutions that thrill guests and align with brand strategy and operational excellence. What Will You Do?
- Provide design studies, sketch plans, creative talent, and imagination to projects as required, and in line with budgets.
- Provide technical reviews of drawings and other submittals to ensure conformance with standards required.
- Coordinates review/approval with participation from appropriate disciplines including activities on site including site progress, sub-contractors’ performance and site organization.
- Racks and maintains project data, record keeping and milestones utilizing a database tool.
- Assists with quantity take-offs and FF&E; bills of materials to support the procurement process.
- Manages time allocation on projects in accordance with specific project budgets, deadlines, and/or direction established.
- Reports to Director of Design, Construction and Technical Services for policy guidance, methods, and systems support matters.
Who Must You Be?
- Degree in architecture, civil engineering, interior design, or a related field with at least 8–10 years’ experience managing design and construction projects.
- Solid background in civil/architectural work with the ability to run projects end-to-end and liaise confidently with consultants, planners, architects, and civil/structural teams.
- Proven skill in managing consultants and contractors, including budgeting and keeping projects on schedule.
- Highly proficient in CAD drawings and able to communicate design intent clearly to all stakeholders.
- Strong grasp of design, engineering, and construction processes, capable of overseeing the build phase as an owner’s representative.
- Organized, resourceful, and creative, combining a designer’s eye with practical problem-solving.
- Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and digital presentation skills.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and project-management software; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and SketchUp is a plus.
