Job Description:

Master MST Services Sdn Bhd (MST) is seeking a qualified and experienced Freelance QA/QC Inspector with API 653 certification to support ongoing tank cleaning, repair, and maintenance projects. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring all works are carried out in compliance with applicable standards, specifications, and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform QA/QC inspections for storage tank cleaning, repair, and maintenance activities
• Ensure compliance with API 653, project specifications, and client requirements
• Review and verify Inspection Test Plans (ITP), method statements, and procedures
• Conduct inspections including (but not limited to):
• Surface preparation and coating works
• Welding and repair activities
• Tank internals and externals condition assessment
• Witness and verify NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) activities
• Prepare and maintain inspection reports, checklists, and QA/QC documentation
• Coordinate with contractors, site teams, and client representatives on quality matters
• Identify non-conformances (NCR) and follow up on corrective actions
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with HSE and quality standards

Requirements:

• Valid API 653 certification (Tank Inspection, Repair, Alteration, and Reconstruction)
• Minimum 5 years of experience in QA/QC within oil & gas or petrochemical industry
• Proven experience in tank cleaning, repair, and maintenance projects
• Familiar with API standards, NDT methods, and coating inspection
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Good documentation and reporting skills
• Strong communication and coordination abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

• Additional certifications such as CSWIP, BGAS, NACE, or ASNT
• Experience working with PETRONAS or similar operators
• Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations

Duration & Engagement:

• Project-based / Freelance engagement
• Duration: 3–6 months or as per project requirement

Job Types: Freelance, Contract

Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM15,000.00 per month
