Role Description The Telecommunications Technician is a contract, on-site role based in Pengerang. The technician is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining telecommunications,CCTV,PAGA,DTRS,Hotline,GCS,FON and telephony systems that support control and automation solutions in oil & gas and power generation facilities. Day-to-day tasks include cabling, equipment setup, system testing, and troubleshooting faults to ensure reliable communication networks. The role also involves collaborating with engineers and other technical staff, documenting work performed, following safety standards and procedures, and supporting system upgrades and ongoing maintenance activities as required.

Qualifications

• Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve issues in telecommunications environments.
• Hands-on experience with telecommunications systems and general telecommunications infrastructure.
• Knowledge of telco solutions, including configuration, maintenance, and integration with control systems.
• Practical cabling skills, including installation, termination, labeling, and testing of network and communication cables.
• Familiarity with industrial environments in oil & gas or power generation, including safety practices and site procedures.
• Ability to read technical drawings and system documentation and follow engineering specifications.
• Relevant technical certification or diploma in telecommunications, electronics, electrical or a related field is preferred.
• Effective communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively on-site with cross-functional teams.
