St. Andrew’s Autism Centre (SAAC) is a non-profit organisation for the education, training, and care of persons with autism and their families. SAAC comprises St. Andrew’s Autism School (SAAS) and St. Andrew’s Adult Autism Services (SAAAS), serving children, youths and adults with autism. SAAAS runs two Day Activity Centres (DACs) at Siglap and Sengkang, and St. Andrew’s Adult Home (Sengkang), Singapore’s first residential facility designed and built to meet the needs of adults of autism. SAAC seeks to enable people with autism to lead dignified and meaningful lives. We invite interested and qualified persons to join us to meet the physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of our students, clients and residents; to provide behavioural support, life skills training, family support and public education.
Job Description
To assist and support Teacher/Teacher Aides in community-referenced outing trips or in class relief.
To assist and support Teacher/Teacher Aides in ensuring classroom orderliness in areas of physical structure and setting up of work stations during class.
To assist students in areas of self-care, grooming and toileting, whenever the need arises.
To assist and support Teacher in collecting direct data on behaviour and progress monitoring of students.
To collaborate and support Teacher/Teacher Aides in classroom management and implementation of behaviour intervention plan.
Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor
Job Specifications
Minimum GCE ‘N’ Level
Experience in dealing with children and youths with autism will be an advantage
Able to commit three (3) days per week for at least 10 weeks
Working Hours : 8.30 am to 5.30 pm (Monday to Friday)
St. Andrew's Mission Hospital (SAMH) first began as a free dispensary for poor local and migrant women and children in 1913. Today, SAMH operates St. Andrew's Community Hospital, St. Andrew’s Autism Centre, St. Andrew’s Mission Hospital Clinics, St. Andrew’s Nursing Homes at Buangkok, Henderson and Queenstown and St. Andrew’s Senior Care centres at Kampong Glam, Tampines, Henderson and Queenstown.
St. John's-St. Margaret’s Nursing Home and Senior Care Centre at Dover Avenue will begin operations in 2021.
