About the Role

We are seeking a commercially driven Assistant Manager – Fertilizer Trading to support the growth and development of our fertilizer trading business.

The role is responsible for executing fertilizer trading and sales activities, managing customer and supplier relationships, identifying new business opportunities, monitoring market developments, and supporting profitable business growth.

The ideal candidate possesses good commercial acumen, relevant experience in fertilizer, chemical, petrochemical or commodity trading, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to independently manage customers and commercial transactions.

What You'll Be Doing

1. Execute fertilizer trading, sales and marketing activities to achieve targeted sales volume, revenue, margin and profitability.

2. Develop new customers, markets and business opportunities while maintaining strong relationships with existing customers, suppliers and key industry stakeholders.

3. Monitor global and regional fertilizer markets, including pricing trends, supply and demand movements, competitor activities and relevant market developments.

4. Conduct commercial negotiations on pricing, volume, payment terms, delivery terms and contractual conditions with customers and suppliers.

5. Manage and follow through on sales and purchase contracts to ensure transactions are executed according to agreed commercial terms and international trading practices.

6. Work closely with Finance, Supply Chain and Logistics to coordinate order fulfilment, shipments, documentation, credit control and timely collection.

7. Prepare sales forecasts, market intelligence, trading analysis and performance reports to support management planning and decision-making.

8. Monitor sales performance, trading margins and profitability, and highlight potential commercial risks or corrective actions to the immediate superior.

9. Identify potential supply sources and business partners to strengthen the Company's fertilizer product portfolio and market competitiveness.

10. Represent the Company at relevant customer meetings, supplier meetings, industry conferences, exhibitions and networking events when required.

11. Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer, supplier, opportunity and market information in the Company's CRM or relevant business systems.

12. Support the Manager / Senior Manager – Fertilizer Trading in implementing business plans, sales strategies and market development initiatives.

13. Provide guidance and support to junior team members, where applicable, to ensure effective execution of commercial activities and achievement of agreed KPIs.

14. Perform other ad hoc duties and responsibilities assigned by the immediate superior.

What We're Looking For

1. Degree in Business, Marketing, International Trade, Chemistry, Agriculture or a related field.

2. Minimum 4–6 years of relevant experience in fertilizer, chemical, petrochemical, commodity or international trading.

3. Experience in the fertilizer industry or fertilizer-related products will be a strong advantage.

4. Good understanding of trading, pricing, commercial negotiation, market analysis and contract execution.

5. Proven ability to develop customers, identify business opportunities and contribute to profitable sales growth.

6. Strong commercial awareness with good negotiation, analytical and relationship-management skills.

7. Able to work independently and manage multiple commercial transactions in a fast-moving international trading environment.

8. Good communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, with the potential to progress into a larger commercial leadership role.

9. Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable working with CRM or business management systems.

10. Willing to travel locally and internationally when required.
