About the Role

We are seeking a talented System Engineer to join our team at Advance Jupiter Sdn Bhd. In this role, you will be responsible for the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Windows Servers and application infrastructure. Based on-site in Kuala Lumpur, you will leverage your expertise in systems administration and network management to ensure the smooth, secure, and efficient operation of our client environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement highly available Windows/Linux server builds, AD forests/domains, and group-policy baselines
• Engineer storage solutions (SAN/NAS/DAS) for databases, VMs, and file services with appropriate RAID, MPIO, and zoning
• Size and configure backup/recovery solutions and DR plans (RPO/RTO-driven)

Deployment & Field Work

• Lead on-site installs, migrations, and cutovers for new services — including IP cameras, recorders, and security tooling integrated into the corporate network
• Configure switches, PoE budgets, VLANs, and QoS to keep video streams off production traffic; enforce secure device onboarding
• Perform physical cabling certification (Cat6A, fiber) and cable-tray/rack layouts

Operations & Security

• Patch and harden Windows/Linux hosts, domain controllers, and bastion hosts against CIS/ISO 27001 baselines
• Maintain monitoring/alerting for system health, disk/storage, and backup integrity
• Implement and maintain audit logging, file-system encryption, and privileged-access (Tier 0/1/2) controls

Incident Response & Support

• Be on-call for P1 infrastructure and security incidents; triage, contain, remediate, and document root causes
• Perform break-fix and preventive maintenance on servers, storage arrays, network gear, and CCTV endpoints
• Handle escalated customer issues with clear, non-technical communication

Collaboration & Process

• Mentor junior technicians; conduct knowledge transfers and peer reviews of designs
• Maintain as-built documentation, IP schedules, credential vaults, and inventory
• Manage vendor relationships and warranty/service contracts for hardware

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience in IT/Computer Science; relevant certs (e.g., MCSA/MCSE, RHCSA/RHCE, CCNA, CompTIA)
• 3–5 years of experience in Windows/Linux server administration and Active Directory
• Hands-on experience with SAN/NAS storage, backup tools (e.g., Veeam, Commvault), and DR
• Experience with networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, PoE, managed switches) and basic cybersecurity hardening
• Familiarity with physical-security tech: IP cameras (ONVIF), NVRs, PoE switching, and video surveillance networking
• Strong troubleshooting methodology; ability to work on ladders/in confined spaces (with PPE)
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record for field visits

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a security-sensitive environment (financial, healthcare, manufacturing)
• Virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V) and container basics
• Scripting (PowerShell, bash) for automation and reporting
• Vendor-specific CCTV/physical-security cert or demonstrated installation experience
• Incident-response and change-management process exposure

Working Conditions

• Mix of data-center/server-room work and customer field sites (warehouses, rooftops, plant floors)
• Occasional evening/weekend on-call rotation
• Standard PPE required for field work (safety glasses, harness, hardhat as site dictates)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift/carry 50+ lbs of equipment (servers, UPS, camera gear)
• Comfort working at height and in all weather conditions for installs
• Normal work hours plus on-call availability; overtime to meet project milestones
