Job Description

Responsibilities

Role Purpose:

To bridge the gap between daily business operations and financial reporting. The Finance Intern will learn how operational events trigger financial workflows, providing critical data verification and administrative support to both the Operations and Finance teams.

1. Program Overview & Objective

This program is designed for students to gain hands-on, end-to-end (E2E) experience in corporate finance. By working half-day/full sessions every Monday through Friday, the intern establishes a daily operational rhythm, allowing them to provide meaningful support to the Senior Accountant while building a foundational understanding of how finance drives business operations.

Core Objective: To transition the intern from an observer to an active coordinator of daily financial tasks, serving as a reliable operational backup for the Senior Accountant on routine workflows and providing essential operational leverage to optimize the efficiency of the finance team.

2. Core Responsibilities of the Finance Department

Before diving into the tasks, the intern must understand why their work matters. The finance department serves as the financial backbone of the company, responsible for:

  • Financial Stewardship & Governance: Ensuring all transactions are accurate, compliant, and properly documented.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitoring cash inflows and outflows (Accounts Receivable & Payable) to ensure the business remains healthy.
  • Performance Reporting: Delivering timely financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement) to help management make strategic decisions.
  • Documentation & Record Keeping: Maintaining a meticulous, audit-ready paper and digital trail for every transaction. Proper documentation ensures that financial data is transparent, reliable, and easily retrievable.
