The Senior Data Scientist is responsible for leading the design, development, and delivery of advanced analytics and machine learning solutions across multiple industries. The role involves translating business problems into data-driven solutions, leading end-to-end Data Science engagements, managing client and stakeholder relationships, and providing technical leadership to Data Science teams. The role also works closely with Data Engineering, BI, Software Engineering, and MLOps teams to operationalize machine learning solutions and ensure high standards of quality and governance.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end Data Science engagements from problem definition through production deployment
- Translate business problems and requirements into analytical and machine learning solutions
- Conduct discovery workshops and gather business and technical requirements
- Perform exploratory data analysis, statistical analysis, feature engineering, model development, validation, and optimization
- Develop predictive, classification, regression, clustering, recommendation, forecasting, anomaly detection, and optimization models
- Present analytical findings, model insights, and recommendations to clients and senior stakeholders
- Collaborate with Data Engineering, BI, Software Engineering, and MLOps teams to operationalize Data Science solutions
- Ensure high standards of documentation, model governance, quality assurance, and Data Science best practices
- Manage multiple concurrent projects, including delivery timelines, risks, and client expectations
- Lead, mentor, and support junior and mid-level Data Scientists
- Conduct technical reviews and promote best practices across Data Science projects
- Support hiring, capability development, and knowledge-sharing initiatives
- Provide technical leadership and contribute to AI strategy and innovation
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 7 years of professional experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or Advanced Analytics
- Strong Python programming skills with hands-on experience in Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-learn
- Strong SQL and database querying skills
- Strong understanding of statistics, probability, machine learning, and optimization techniques
- Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, XGBoost, LightGBM, or CatBoost
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Matplotlib, or Plotly
- Experience with Git and collaborative software development practices
- Experience leading enterprise Data Science projects and client-facing engagements
- Strong analytical, presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience mentoring technical teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously
