Role Description The GEES intern role at PETRONAS is an internship position based in Kuala Lumpur City with a hybrid work arrangement, combining on-site collaboration with flexible work-from-home options. Day-to-day responsibilities may include supporting data collection, analysis, and reporting for environmental, energy efficiency, or sustainability-related initiatives within the organization. The intern may assist in preparing presentations, dashboards, and documentation to communicate project findings, as well as help coordinate internal meetings, workshops, or stakeholder engagement activities. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, learning PETRONAS’ standards and processes, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts aligned with the company’s sustainability goals.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to work with data, interpret findings, and present clear insights.
  • Candidates should possess good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, presentations, and professional correspondence.
  • Candidates should possess collaboration and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in diverse, cross-functional environments and adapt to hybrid working arrangements.
  • Candidates should possess basic technical or digital proficiency, such as familiarity with productivity tools (e.g., spreadsheets, presentation software) and comfort learning new systems or platforms.
  • Candidates should possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail, including the ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and follow established processes.
  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant bachelor’s program (e.g., engineering, environmental science, sustainability, business, data science, or related fields) is preferred.
  • An interest in the energy sector, sustainability, and low-carbon solutions, along with a willingness to learn from mentors and take initiative, will be beneficial.
