Head of Finance/Finance Manager

Job Overview

We are representing our client in search for an experienced and commercially minded Head of Finance to lead and oversee the finance function of a fast-growing AI company. This individual will play a key role in building the company's financial infrastructure, strengthening financial controls, supporting strategic decision-making, and partnering closely with the CEO and management team during the company's growth and expansion.

The ideal candidate should be hands-on, comfortable operating in a fast-paced and evolving environment, and possess strong experience in financial management, reporting, planning, and international operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the overall finance function, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, tax, and compliance.
• Establish and improve financial policies, processes, internal controls, and reporting systems to support the company's rapid growth.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis for management and shareholders.
• Partner closely with the CEO and senior management team to provide financial insights and support strategic and operational decision-making.
• Lead financial planning and analysis, including revenue forecasting, cost management, profitability analysis, and business performance monitoring.
• Manage cash flow, working capital, banking relationships, and funding requirements.
• Oversee statutory reporting, tax compliance, audits, and other regulatory requirements across relevant jurisdictions.
• Support corporate activities such as fundraising, investor reporting, financial due diligence, M&A, and potential future IPO preparation.
• Work closely with external auditors, tax advisors, legal counsel, banks, and other professional service providers.
• Support the implementation and optimisation of ERP, finance automation, and reporting systems.
• Build, develop, and manage the finance team as the company scales.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. Professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent are highly preferred.
• At least 6–12 years of progressive finance experience, with experience leading or managing a finance function.
• Prior experience as a Finance Director, Head of Finance, Financial Controller, or senior finance leader is preferred.
• Experience in a technology, AI, SaaS, high-growth startup, or fast-paced international business environment would be highly advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, taxation, and internal controls.
• Experience supporting fundraising, investor reporting, financial due diligence, or corporate transactions would be advantageous.
• Strong commercial acumen and the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights.
• Comfortable being both strategic and hands-on, particularly in a growing organisation where processes and structures are still evolving.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work closely with founders, senior management, investors, and external advisors.
• Experience managing regional or international finance operations is preferred.
