Saint-Gobain Gyproc Malaysia Hiring! Full Time Legal Counsel in Federal Territory - Ricebowl

This role will be a member of Legal department of Saint-Gobain Asia Region, specifically in charge of supporting SEA countries, with following coverage:

• Working as business partner to provide full scale day-to-day legal and compliance support for the Activities and BUs in Southeast countries as in-house counsel;
• Supporting locally the M&A files together with external lawyers; monitoring local law firms in handling the contentious matters, especially employment related ones;
• Monitoring the regulatory and legislative changes and preparing internal memo to facilitate local business strategy and decision;
• Deliver in person legal and compliance training for local BU/Activity/Functions; and
• Other ad hoc assignments or tasks.

Qualification Requirements:

Educational background:

• Recognized law school with LLB degree and admission to local bar a must;
• LLM made from overseas reputable law school is a plus and preferred.

Experience and skills:

• 5 ~ 8 years of PQE with working experience accumulated from both reputable law firm and industrial MNC (or local leading industrial player) in areas of corporate, contract, labor & Union, and compliance, etc.;
• Solid and sophisticated legal skills;
• Advanced communication and presentation skills;
• Business acumen and;
• Excellent command of spoken and written English;
• Mature and can work independently with minor supervision;
• Self-motivated and willing to work hard under pressure;
• True team player with learning spirit.

Reporting line:

• Direct reporting line: to VP Asia, Legal and Compliance, Saint-Gobain Asia Region based in Shanghai;
• Dotted reporting line: to Country CEO Malaysia & Singapore
