1. Workshop Operations
- Manage and supervise the overall daily operations of the workshop.
- Ensure all repair and maintenance activities are completed efficiently and according to schedule.
- Plan and prioritize vehicle repairs, servicing, preventive maintenance and emergency breakdowns.
- Ensure workshop operations minimize vehicle downtime and disruption to company operations.
- Monitor the condition and availability of workshop equipment, tools and facilities.
2. Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
- Oversee preventive maintenance and corrective repairs for company vehicles and trucks.
- Ensure proper inspection and diagnosis of vehicle problems before repair.
- Monitor major repairs, engine, gearbox, electrical, brake, tyre and other mechanical issues.
- Ensure vehicles are roadworthy and comply with required safety standards.
- Maintain proper maintenance records for all vehicles.
3. Staff Management
- Supervise mechanics, technicians, helpers and other workshop personnel.
- Assign daily jobs and responsibilities according to workload and staff capability.
- Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, productivity and work performance.
- Provide guidance, coaching and technical support to workshop staff.
- Identify training needs and recommend suitable training or development.
- Ensure staff follow company rules, workshop procedures and safety requirements.
4. Job Planning & Monitoring
- Prepare daily and weekly workshop job schedules.
- Monitor the progress of ongoing repair jobs.
- Ensure urgent vehicle repairs are prioritized according to operational requirements.
- Follow up on pending repair jobs and ensure timely completion.
- Communicate vehicle repair status and expected completion dates to Management / Operations.
5. Spare Parts & Inventory
- Monitor workshop spare parts, lubricants, consumables and other inventory.
- Ensure sufficient stock of frequently used spare parts.
- Request purchase of required parts and materials with proper approval.
- Verify parts received against purchase orders/invoices.
- Monitor usage and prevent unnecessary wastage or unauthorized use of parts.
- Maintain proper records of spare parts issued and used.
6. Cost Control
- Monitor workshop repair and maintenance costs.
- Review quotations and repair costs before work is carried out where applicable.
- Control unnecessary replacement of parts and avoid excessive repair expenses.
- Monitor external workshop/vendor repair costs.
- Report major or unexpected repair expenses to Management for approval.
7. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all workshop employees follow proper safety procedures.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and workshop safety equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe working environment.
- Ensure tools and machinery are used correctly.
- Immediately report accidents, injuries, unsafe conditions or major vehicle defects to Management.
- Ensure vehicles are maintained according to applicable legal and company requirements.
8. External Vendor / Workshop Coordination
- Coordinate with external workshops, suppliers and service providers when specialized repairs are required.
- Obtain and compare quotations where necessary.
- Monitor outsourced repair work and ensure work is completed according to agreed requirements.
- Verify completed work before the vehicle is returned to operation.
9. Breakdown & Emergency Support
- Coordinate urgent roadside breakdowns and recovery arrangements.
- Provide technical assistance to drivers and Operations where required.
- Arrange towing, mobile repair or external workshop support when necessary.
- Follow up until the vehicle is repaired and returned to service.
10. Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare regular workshop reports covering:
- Vehicle maintenance status
- Repair progress
- Vehicle downtime
- Spare parts usage
- Repair costs
- Breakdown cases
- Pending maintenance
- Maintain accurate workshop records and documentation.
- Report major vehicle issues and maintenance concerns to Management promptly.
11. Performance & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor workshop productivity and repair turnaround time.
- Identify recurring vehicle problems and recommend preventive actions.
- Improve workshop procedures to reduce breakdowns and vehicle downtime.
- Recommend improvements in tools, equipment, manpower and maintenance practices.
- Ensure continuous improvement in workshop efficiency and service quality.

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
