Main Purpose of the Position:
To monitor and coordinate overall tank farm section and finished good Ester plant activity by following up and instruction from Management to the floor in order to achieve daily departmental as well as company objective and policy towards safety & quality standards.
Job Description:
1.Operations Management
- Report directly to the OleO Plant Manager on operational issues, production performance, safety, quality, and other critical matters.
- Monitor daily Tank Farm and Finished Goods operations, including production, POIMS, safety, quality, dispatch, and blending activities.
- Plan and coordinate daily job distribution for the Tank Farm and Finished Goods teams across shifts.
- Ensure smooth and efficient operation of the Tank Farm, Ester Production, Blending, and related plant activities.
- Monitor daily production and operational performance against planned targets and company objectives.
2.Production & Shift Coordination
- Communicate and coordinate with management and production teams regarding operational issues and requirements.
- Coordinate with internal and external parties on work orders, equipment breakdowns, boiler, safety, maintenance, instrumentation, electrical, and other plant-related issues.
- Support the Production Section Head and Tank Farm team in resolving operational constraints and ensuring production continuity.
- Monitor product readiness, material availability, tank readiness, tank cleaning, blending, road tanker preparation, and dispatch requirements.
3.Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Act as the Person-In-Charge (PIC) for Tank Farm-related ISO, Halal, Kosher, and GMP documentation and implementation.
- Ensure Tank Farm and production activities comply with company safety, quality, environmental, and operational procedures.
- Support implementation and maintenance of relevant ISO and quality management systems.
- Conduct regular operational checks to identify safety, quality, housekeeping, and process-related issues.
- Coordinate corrective and preventive actions for identified operational or compliance issues.
4.Training & People Management
- Act as PIC for departmental training for Temporary/Flexible Force (TF) employees on ISO, quality, and safety requirements.
- Conduct regular toolbox briefings and ensure employees understand relevant safety and operational requirements.
- Assist in manpower planning, work allocation, shift coordination, and monitoring of team performance.
- Provide guidance and support to Tank Farm and Ester Production personnel.
5.Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Prepare and submit daily operational and production reports to management.
- Monitor key production and operational indicators, including productivity, N2 consumption, steam consumption, fat trap COD, material availability, plant readiness, and shift performance.
- Conduct daily reviews of production and operational reports and highlight abnormalities or potential risks to management.
- Support monthly performance reviews, KPI monitoring, company objective tracking, and annual budget planning.
6.Continuous Improvement & Cost Optimization
- Assist the Tank Farm and Ester Production Section Head in identifying and implementing continuous improvement projects.
- Monitor plant utility consumption on a monthly basis and identify opportunities for cost reduction and energy optimization.
- Propose improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, operational efficiency, safety, quality, and cost effectiveness.
- Monitor and improve housekeeping standards across the Tank Farm and production areas.
7.Daily Plant Monitoring
- Conduct daily inspections of the Tank Farm, Ester Production, Drumming, Spray Cooling Plant, Blending, and related production areas.
- Monitor tank cleaning, pond/melting tank, production plant, row-by-row equipment status, and electrical/instrumentation issues.
- Ensure identified equipment or operational issues are promptly communicated to the relevant departments for corrective action.
- Monitor plant readiness and ensure all necessary facilities and equipment are available for production and shipment activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, chemical processing, oleochemical, tank farm, or production operations.
- Experience in Tank Farm, Ester Production, Blending, or chemical/oleochemical plant operations will be an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of plant operations, production processes, safety, quality, and maintenance coordination.
- Good understanding of ISO, GMP, Halal, Kosher, and other relevant quality management systems.
- Strong leadership, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to manage operational issues and make timely decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
