JOB PURPOSE

To operate and control laser cutting / bending machines safely and efficiently to produce sheet metal components according to approved drawings, specifications, work instructions and production schedules.

The Machine Operator is responsible for achieving the required production output, dimensional accuracy, product quality and on-time completion while maintaining proper machine condition and workplace safety.

2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Laser Cutting Machine Operation

• Operate laser cutting machine according to approved production drawings and work instructions.

• Load and unload sheet metal materials safely and correctly.

• Verify material type, thickness, size and material identification before cutting.

• Check and confirm the correct cutting program, material specification and job number before starting production.

• Perform basic machine setup including nozzle selection, focus/height adjustment and cutting parameter verification where required.

• Monitor cutting operation throughout the production process.

• Conduct first-piece inspection before proceeding with mass production.

B. CNC Bending Machine Operation

• Operate CNC press brake / bending machine according to approved drawings and bending programs.

• Read and understand engineering drawings, dimensions, bend angles and tolerances.

• Verify correct material, thickness, tooling and bending sequence before production.

• Set up suitable punches, dies and tooling according to job requirements.

• Load and position sheet metal correctly before bending.

• Make basic machine parameter adjustments where authorized.

• Monitor production to ensure consistent dimensional accuracy.

• Prevent scratches, dents, deformation and other handling damage.
