  • Lead and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the maintenance team to support smooth production operations.
  • Set maintenance priorities and allocate technical resources based on production requirements and equipment conditions.
  • Lead troubleshooting and repair activities for production machinery, electrical systems, and automation equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex equipment breakdowns involving electrical, mechanical, control, and automation systems.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to maintenance technicians in troubleshooting and problem-solving activities.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot PLCs, sensors, motors, drives, control panels, and other automated equipment.
  • Plan, schedule, monitor, and improve preventive maintenance activities to increase equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Analyze recurring equipment failures and lead root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
  • Coordinate the installation, commissioning, modification, and upgrading of machinery, equipment, and automation systems.
  • Lead or participate in automation improvement projects to enhance productivity, equipment performance, safety, and process efficiency.
  • Work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, Safety, and other departments to resolve equipment and process-related issues.
  • Support production layout changes, machine relocation, and technical improvement projects.
  • Manage critical maintenance and automation spare parts to ensure availability while controlling inventory costs.
  • Ensure maintenance records, machine history, electrical drawings, technical documents, and reports are properly maintained.
  • Drive continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives within maintenance activities.
  • Develop the technical capability of the maintenance team through coaching, knowledge sharing, and on-the-job guidance.
  • Monitor maintenance performance and recommend improvements to increase equipment reliability, efficiency, and operational effectiveness.
  • Ensure all maintenance and automation activities comply with company safety requirements, procedures, and applicable standards.
  • Support departmental administrative requirements, reports, documentation, and other assigned responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in industrial maintenance, automation, electrical systems, or production equipment maintenance.
  • At least 2–3 years of experience leading or supervising a maintenance or technical team.
  • Strong knowledge of PLC systems, sensors, motors, variable frequency drives (VFD), control panels, and industrial automation systems.
  • Good understanding of mechanical and electrical maintenance principles.
  • Able to read and understand electrical drawings, control circuits, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for electrical, mechanical, and automation-related equipment.
  • Experience in PLC programming, troubleshooting, modification, or automation improvement projects is highly preferred.
  • Experience with sewing machine technology or similar manufacturing equipment would be an added advantage.
  • Good knowledge of preventive maintenance, root cause analysis, equipment reliability, and breakdown reduction techniques.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide, coach, and develop technical team members.
  • Strong analytical and hands-on approach to technical problem solving.
  • Able to prioritize maintenance activities and make effective technical decisions during equipment breakdowns.
  • Good communication and coordination skills with the ability to work effectively across different departments.

Pay: From RM5,000.00 per month
