ChemT is a pioneering TechBio company focusedon creating a new category of small molecules - cellular drugs - to boost biologics’ manufacturing, using AI. We are founded by leading scientists and entrepreneurs backed by Harvard University, National University of Singapore,Stanford, the Karolinska Institute, Mayo Clinic and Eli Lilly.
We are looking for a Research Scientist with a strong background in biomedical sciences, biological/life sciences, data science, or related fields to support research and development initiatives.
Responsibilities
Biomanufacturing still lacks predictable, tunable control over cell behaviour, limiting yield, quality, and scalability. ChemT Biotechnology takes a paradigm shifting approach. It has developed an AI-driven virtual cell platform, CelMo, which builds foundation models of different cell types to predict cell states upon perturbation. Built on CelMo’s foundation layer are downstream applications including AI agents for cell engineering and de novo small-molecule design and generation to modulate cell behaviour. CelMo is being applied to CHO cells, the workhorse of antibody and protein production, as well as T cell. Its AI-designed small molecules have been adopted by 40+ partners. The platform is broadly applicable across multiple cell types such as stem cells, NK cells and HEK cells.

We are looking for a Research Scientist with a strong background in biomedical sciences, biological/life sciences, data science, or related fields to support research and development initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Plan, conduct,and troubleshoot laboratory experiments independently under established research objectives.
- Perform routine cell culture, molecular biology, and biochemical assays.
- Maintain accurate and complete experimental records, protocols, and laboratory documentation.
- Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and present findings to the researchteam.
- Optimize experimental protocols and research workflows to improve reproducibility and efficiency.
- Conduct literature reviews to support experimental design and scientific decision-making.
- Collaborate closely with scientists, computational biologists, and engineers on multidisciplinary research projects.
- Support computational biology and data analysis activities, including AI/ML-related projects, where required.
- Prepare scientific reports, presentations, grant materials, and regulatory documentation.
- Assist with laboratory operations, including reagent preparation, inventory management,equipment maintenance, and compliance with laboratory safety requirements.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree
- Currently pursuing studies inbiomedical/biological Sciences, life sciences, data Science, Bioinformatics, ora related field.
- Basic knowledge of molecularbiology, immunology, cellular biology or related disciplines.
- Experience with data analysistools (Python, R, or MATLAB) is preferred.
- Strong analytical thinking andproblem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail andability to work in a research-driven environment.
