The Position
We are seeking an experienced APAC Finance Senior manager to lead and oversee financial reporting, accounting governance, statutory compliance, taxation, audit management and financial control across the Asia Pacific region (Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Hong Kong).
The successful candidate will serve as the regional finance management team member, responsible for a team of 3-5 finance professionals across the region and acting as the primary liaison with external auditors, tax advisors, regulatory authorities, and corporate finance teams.
This position requires a strong technical accounting professional with deep IFRS expertise, Big 4 audit exposure, multinational corporation experience in UPS systems, Power and energy industrial sectors.
Main Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Accounting Leadership
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities across APAC entities.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS and local statutory requirements.
- Review and approve Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, Cash Flow, and supporting schedules.
- Manage consolidation packages and reporting submissions to Group Finance.
- Ensure consistency between local GAAP requirements and Group IFRS reporting requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial close and reporting processes.
- Provide guidance to local finance teams on accounting treatment and financial compliance.
- Ensure standardization of finance processes across the APAC region.
- Drive consistency in financial reporting and policy application.
Regional Financial Control & Governance
- Maintain strong internal controls and corporate governance across all APAC entities.
- Ensure compliance with Group Finance policies and procedures.
- Review and strengthen financial control frameworks, risk management processes, and compliance practices.
- Lead implementation of corrective actions arising from audit findings and control reviews.
- Monitor working capital, balance sheet integrity, and financial risk exposures.
Audit Management
- Serve as the primary regional contact for all external audits.
- Lead annual statutory audits across Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Hong Kong.
- Build and manage relationships with external auditors.
- Coordinate audit planning, information requests, issue resolution, and audit closure activities.
- Ensure timely completion of group audit requirements and statutory filings.
Taxation & Regulatory Compliance
- Oversee direct and indirect tax compliance across APAC countries.
- Coordinate with local tax advisors on: CIT, GST / VAT / SST, WHT, TP and Cross-border tax matter.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory filing requirements.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess business impact.
- Manage tax audits and interactions with local tax authorities.
Business & Project Support
- Partner with Operations, Project Management, Sales, and Executive Leadership teams.
- Provide financial guidance for project accounting and long-term contracts.
- Review project profitability, revenue recognition, and margin performance.
- Support strategic initiatives, acquisitions, process improvements, and finance transformation projects.
Systems & Process Improvement
- Act as key finance owner for SAP ERP processes.
- Drive automation and reporting enhancements.
- Improve efficiency, standardization, and data quality across APAC finance operations.
- Support system upgrades, process harmonization, and digital finance initiatives.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting or finance or related discipline.
- Professional accounting qualification in ACCA/CPA/ICAEW/CIMA
- Min. 10 years of accounting experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS.
- Experience managing full sets of accounts, financial statements, and multi-country reporting.
- Strong experience managing external and internal audits.
- SAP ERP experience is mandatory.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and AI exposure.
- Experience in Project accounting and working capital management.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
