About the Roles
Join an industrial engineering environment as an Electrical Engineer (Technical / Project) based in Tapah, Perak. This is a permanent role with a 5-day work week, Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.30pm, offering a basic salary of up to RM6,500 plus variable bonus.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Plan electrical engineering projects under the yearly CAPEX cycle by reviewing plant needs, carrying out pre-studies, and recommending practical solutions with technical specifications and budgets.
- Manage approved CAPEX projects from planning through implementation, including electrical engineering, construction supervision, and commissioning support.
- Develop and review engineering deliverables such as SLD, electrical load/layout/concept design, basic design, detailed design, and shop drawings, including outsourced work where applicable.
- Coordinate with process, mechanical, automation, civil, structural, and other engineering teams to support smooth project execution.
- Prepare Technical Specifications and RFQ documents, and assess supplier quotations together with the procurement team.
- Track assigned CAPEX project progress to ensure alignment with budget, timeline, quality, and SHE standards.
- Support quarterly cash-out forecasting for assigned CAPEX projects.
- Assist plant teams during major maintenance activities, unexpected electrical issues, and improvements to existing plant electrical systems.
- Promote and practise a safety first approach across all work activities.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; qualifications in Automation or Instrumentation Engineering will be an advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in project management and process plant electrical work, covering design, engineering, construction, and commissioning.
- Strong knowledge of electrical, instrumentation, and automation installation and commissioning for industrial projects.
- Solid understanding of electrical engineering, with basic knowledge of mechanics, steel structures, civil works, automation, and construction methods such as lifting and scaffolding.
- Able to read, interpret, and apply engineering drawings and technical documents.
- Proficient in EPlan and AutoCAD.
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions, dusty environments, and roles that may involve physical demands.
