Codingo is a Singapore software development and AI services agency. We're hiring an engineer for one of our client projects. It's a cybersecurity platform that uses AI to combine vulnerability, threat and asset data and tell security teams what to fix first. It has been through several rounds of testing and is now moving into production, including customer data centres.

The core development team works remotely. You'll be the engineer on the ground in Singapore. You'll pick up technical feedback quickly, work out whether it's a real problem, fix it, and help get the platform running inside customer environments. The role is Singapore-based with regular client site visits.

What you'll do:

- Deploy and run the platform in customer data centres and on-premise environments. It currently runs on Docker behind Nginx, and production setups are moving toward Kubernetes and Helm.

- Reproduce and fix issues raised by clients and security testers, then confirm the fix works.

- Build and maintain backend services and APIs in Python (FastAPI) with PostgreSQL, Redis and Kafka.

- Help add the features enterprise customers ask for, such as single sign-on and multi-factor login, separating each customer's data, file storage and monitoring.

- Support proofs of concept at client sites, and run product demos and training for client teams.

- Work with the remote team on testing and releases.

What you'll need:

- At least 3 years building backend services in Python. FastAPI is preferred.

- Strong PostgreSQL skills, including migrations, query tuning, and backup and restore.

- Experience with Redis, and with Kafka or a similar message broker.

- Day-to-day comfort with Linux servers, Docker and Nginx, including TLS certificates.

- Experience deploying to Kubernetes (with Helm) or into on-premise or data-centre environments.

- A good grasp of application security, including JWT login, role-based access control and the OWASP Top 10. You should be able to read a penetration test report and fix what it finds.

- Clear communication. You'll often explain technical issues to non-technical people, and sometimes present to clients.

- Based in Singapore and able to work at client sites. This includes regulated organisations such as banks and government-linked companies, where background screening may apply.

Nice to have:

- Experience with security tools and data, such as Nuclei, MITRE ATT&CK mapping, CVE/KEV/EPSS data or vulnerability management.

- React, for occasional frontend fixes.

- Building features on top of AI language models, including retrieval (RAG) with pgvector.

- Enterprise login integration, such as Microsoft Entra ID or other single sign-on providers.

- MinIO or S3 file storage, and monitoring tools.

We start with a short call, followed by a practical task based on real work. If that goes well, you'll have a final chat with the team. Certifications like OSCP or CEH are welcome but not required. We care more about how you investigate a problem and whether you can actually solve it.
