About the Opportunity

Our client is a leading international power technology and energy solutions provider with a strong global presence. The company delivers advanced solutions across power system protection, automation and control, HVDC & FACTS, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), microgrids, and engineering services.

As part of its continued expansion in Malaysia, our client is looking for an experienced Sales Manager to drive business development and sales activities within the Malaysia BESS and electrical power market.

This position is well suited to a commercially driven professional who combines strong knowledge of Malaysia’s power and energy sector with an electrical engineering background and established relationships within the local market.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sales and business development strategies to achieve and exceed revenue targets for BESS and other electrical power solutions in Malaysia.
• Identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities across the Malaysia power and energy market.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including utilities, power producers, energy companies, EPC contractors, consultants, developers, and other relevant customers.
• Develop a strong understanding of customer requirements and provide suitable technical and commercial solutions.
• Monitor market trends, customer developments, competitor activities, regulatory changes, and emerging opportunities within the Malaysia BESS and power sector.
• Manage the full sales cycle, including opportunity identification, customer engagement, solution positioning, commercial discussions, negotiation, and contract closure.
• Work closely with internal engineering, product, project, and customer service teams to ensure effective solution delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Support customers throughout the project lifecycle and coordinate internally to ensure high-quality after-sales support.
• Maintain a healthy sales pipeline and provide regular updates on opportunities, forecasts, and market developments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Energy Engineering, or another relevant technical discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in the Malaysia power, electrical, energy, or BESS market.
• Good understanding of the Malaysia BESS market, power grid, utility landscape, and electrical power industry.
• Previous experience in sales, business development, key account management, or solution sales within the power and energy sector is highly preferred.
• Existing relationships with utilities, energy companies, EPCs, developers, consultants, or other relevant stakeholders in Malaysia would be a strong advantage.
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to understand and communicate technical solutions to customers.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-management skills.
• Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with regional and international teams.
