Senior Engineer – Database Services
Location: KL, Malaysia

Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Engineer – Database Services with strong hands-on experience in database administration, troubleshooting, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and database operations across on-premises and cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and support Oracle databases (11g, 12c, 19c) in standalone and RAC/cluster environments.
Provide operational support for databases including MS SQL/SQL MI, MySQL, PostgreSQL/EDB, and MongoDB.
Monitor database performance, availability, capacity, and health.
Perform database patching, upgrades, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
Manage database backup, restore, recovery, and disaster recovery (DR) activities.
Support Oracle Data Guard, RAC, ASM, tablespaces, and database storage.
Manage database users, access, permissions, and security hardening.
Handle database incidents, changes, deployments, and root cause analysis.
Monitor and maintain database backup and recovery processes.
Support database audits, security compliance, and vulnerability remediation.
Prepare and maintain database documentation, SOPs, and operational procedures.
Participate in 24x7 on-call/standby support when required.
Required Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent.
3+ years of hands-on experience in Oracle Database Administration.
Strong experience with Oracle RAC/Cluster environments.
Experience with at least one additional database platform such as MS SQL/SQL MI, MySQL, PostgreSQL/EDB, or MongoDB.
Strong knowledge of database patching, backup & recovery, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
Experience with DR, monitoring, security, and database administration.
Good knowledge of SQL and database concepts.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good to Have
Oracle, Microsoft SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL/EDB, or MongoDB certifications.
Experience with Azure/cloud database environments.
Experience with Oracle Data Guard, ASM, and database security hardening.
Experience supporting large-scale or mission-critical environments.
